My wife and I normally have pizza every Friday but we both agreed to scout out Chinese food restaurant. Well if Portsmouth can satisfy our palate they will gain 2 customers. So we looked up Jacky Chan, a fairly new restaurant and not even 7 minutes away from us. We were both impressed with the cleanliness and great flow of customers and door dashing. But what really caught our attention is many chefs in the kitchen, the cleanliness of entire cooking and food prep area. Amazingly the menu and pictures displayed was excellent because nothing like the internet photos and I say there’s another start for the real picture offerings. I was in the store and a prep chef was cutting sausage on the prep counter. He would cut the sausage using a hatchet type of knife. He then would toss the pieces in a bucket. He then dropped a piece on the floor. When he finished cutting all the meat, he then picks it up off the floor and threw it in the bucket with all the other meat. I get the attention of the owner and told him. I said hey the guy just picked the meat off the floor and put it in the bucket with the other sausage. He said it does not matter they fry the food, and the heat will kill all germs. I then told him that it should be thrown away. He said it does not matter, the food is cooked, and all germs fall out.I should have...
This used to be my go-to place through the years. But it seems the quality has declined. I'm an egg fu yung fan but something wasn't right about this order. I stopped eating it, out of fear of being sick. The boneless ribs lacked sauce and were fatty, and dry. I had two fortune cookies and one of those was stale. In these trying times, it hurts to spend money on something and not be 100 percent satisfied. Disappointing. I will return to Dragon City.
Always a 5 star experience. Food is always perfect, staff is always courteous, and service is always quick. If you are looking for a new Chinese food staple, this is the place to go. My family and I have eaten here for 10+ years and have NEVER had a bad experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone. As far as fast food Chinese, this place is pretty good. The store is clean. The employees were nice and quick. Food was hot and ready to pick up in the time given over the phone. Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor with handicap parking nearby.
