on Mother's Day 2021 we ordered from china wok in listowel on the day before 16:00 clock for picking up on Sunday in the evening. the earliest time slot we could get was the following day at 19:30 clock. in this year I ordered a day before the time. at 11:00 a.m. so I could get a better time slot for picking up. they said I could pick up since I was the first command. I've whipped at 18 o'clock on Mother's Day. it is now 6:25 and not a sign of our food. we were the first to order a 6:00 clock time slot and my man is now waiting to pick up in a line of 20 other people for 6:00 clock. How does that work? I'll tell you. next great opportunity that we want to eat, it will not be china wok. very...
since covid and the pandemic we had taken many paintings out of magic wok. so far we have never been disappointed and either for our own or if we had a company, we trust in magic wok. it always comes hot, tasty, and the portions are excellent. Once the pandemic is over and the world becomes normal again, the magic wok will resume its buffet again and this is also an excellent choice. we are happy here in listowel to have this fantastic restaurant. Usually the dishes are kept fresh, and relatively refilled. The closer you get to closing, the fewer the fresh choices there are, but if you ask, they will bring fresh product out. Friendly staff and busy Fridays. Like going mid-week-not too busy and quiet. The staff don't seem to try to get you out the door and constantly check with you to see if all is okay and do you need refills or special items.
I had almost given up on Chinese Buffets. I was tired of everything tasting the same, mushy veggies, poor quality meat and general dinginess. But THIS buffet was NONE of those things. We meet with friends from Stratford occasionally in a central location and decided on Listowel. The Magic Wok hit the spot, lots of choice and the food was delicious. Service was great and we will go back. Price was very reasonable especially for seniors.
we tried their buffet spreads and combination plates. Eating is not authentic Chinese, but has the essence of Chinese cuisine. light comfort food, we enjoy going there when we are very hungry. many visits worth. recommended!
The torpedo shrimp and wonton appetizers are my favourite. There are plenty of dishes to choose from in the buffet. The only complaints from our group were not warm enough and the lemon chicken was too dry

For a small town this place does have a good selection. Just don't wait until near closing as the pickings on the buffet can get a bit sparce from past experience.
