We have been coming to Jalapeños for a few years now and had nothing but good things to say about the food, service, and experience. Since January of this year we have had very poor service every visit. First, we went for a birthday lunch with my elderly grandmother, we waited about an hour for a table, then at least 30 minutes until we had anyone come to our table, and did not return to check in on us or provide our bill to pay. Very out of character from what we’d experienced previously. Next, when picking up an order they left out majority of our food and then when we came back the front hosts argued that it was correct even when showing our receipt. Overall not a great experience. Food is mediocre at best and service was horrible. From the time we walked through the door to the time we left we felt no engagement by the team and it felt like people were genuinely unhappy to be there. I know it just opened up and they’re working through there bugs but these are easy items. The attentiveness of our server was just flat out atrocious as we sat there for 10-15 minutes with empty drinks and not get checked on once. When we finally flagged him down he was annoyed by our request. Once the check was delivered he hovered over me staring at what I was going to write for tip. First, we are LONG time Jalapeños customers. They serve the best margs in Midlothian and their blanco queso is our absolute favorite. We tried their new location last week and were pleasantly surprised that most things are the exact same, just the way we like it. Their new building is spacious and love the new aesthetics. We were able to sit on the patio and their newly added misters and open breezeway was perfect! One thing I was very disappointed in.... The FRIES! And yes I know this is silly because fries aren't necessarily a staple at a good Mexican food restaurant. But they could at least be HOT. Was served cold, soggy fries with my jalapeño wrap, and it really put a damper on the plate...
We tried it just before they moved to the new location. We were definitely not impressed with the food. The quesadillas were dry small and very unappetizing for the price. Then we thought we would give them another chance when they moved to their new location. I had the street tacos and they were dry. I got some raw onions and a little bit of cilantro with them.I had to ask for sautéed onions and salsa. Also did not come with any kind of cheese, my wife ordered A tamale and a burrito, neither had cheese on it. It looked like it was from a TV dinner pack, and then thrown a plate. I have been going here for a couple of years now because it’s hard to compete with the price and the quality of food and service. Waitstaff is always friendly, punctual, and accurate with our order. The owner, bartenders, and hosts also started greeting us by name after only a couple of visits. And, if you are a “degenerate,” the drinks are well worth the price. Overall, it is a great family restaurant (and now, the new location can accommodate even more people). I take all my friends here for good reason.
I want to love this place but after my first visit I am torn. Waited a LONG time for food, never received my order (rest of the table finally did), but the queso and service were good. The manager gave us a discount for the delay and issues without us asking, which was nice. Will try again. UPDATE- Tried the new location and was pleasantly surprised. The food was DELICIOUS
We have enjoyed Jalepeno Lemon Pepper as one of our favorite restaurants since they first opened. We are excited that they have moved to a bigger location! Great service, food, atmosphere! I highly recommend it!

Always loved this place, but they moved to the Beefs location. Showed up at 11, 1st group seated, left at 12:40 with no food, manager kept saying “we’re working on it”, no food
