They claim their sausage samosas are Kenyan, but they definitely are not. The sausages tasted stale and undercooked, as if they were old or had been sitting out too long. The samosas are not made in the authentic Kenyan style—the outer crust is too thick and there’s very little beef inside, so you’re not really getting what you paid for. CUSTOMER SERVICE: The lady at the cashier with the long braids was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. She clearly lacks basic customer service skills. No one is forcing her to be there, so she should act like she wants customers to return.
I placed an online order, and 20 minutes later, I received a message saying my order at 6:30 pm with Jambo Africa Restaurant and Bar was canceled due to "Customer changed mind." When I called to clarify, a rude man told me the kitchen was full and they canceled my order. When I asked why the message said I canceled, Mr. Rude hung up on me. Honestly, they should have given a courteous call and been respectful if they weren't going to fulfill the order. This will be the last time I order from here. What a waste of time.
I'm giving this place 3 stars for two reasons. First, it took 45 minutes to receive my order, which, as you can see from the photo, shouldn't have taken that long. Second, I had to go back inside to get utensils for my to-go order. The young man working the counter completely ignored me when I returned; I said "excuse me, sir" three times before a server finally brought the utensils. The food is decent, but time is something I can't afford to waste. I recommend placing your order before you arrive.
I will never order from this restaurant again. My son ordered food from here and received the wrong order through DoorDash, which led him to the Emergency Room due to an allergic reaction. I called to inform the restaurant about the situation, and the owner was upset with me instead. I made it clear that I was the one who had every right to be upset. I also tried to get a refund from DoorDash, but the restaurant declined it. Thankfully, my son is okay now.

I tried to order from Jambo Africa three times in the past week. The first time, I was told my order had been delivered, but I had to take extra steps to get a refund. The second time, my order was canceled. The third time, they said the cancellation was because the customer changed their mind. I really want to try their food, but it seems they’re not interested in gaining more customers.
Jambo is one of the top places for West African cuisine in the Northwest Metro area. I’ve tried their cassava leaf jollof rice, and it's absolutely delicious. They also offer some nightlife options that are definitely worth checking out.
It costs $20 each to get in, but there’s nowhere to sit. It would be much better if they had real bartenders making drinks. The hookah was awful. I’m only giving 2 stars because of the DJ; everything else definitely needs improvement.
The dirty rice was horrible and the fish as cooked fine but no meat ...over priced for nun and will never try it again... SMH SMH very surprised used to be ok on Shingle Creek parkway in the shopping center but this was a disgrace

This is possibly the worst cassava leaf soup I've ever tasted! It was completely unseasoned. The rice tasted like instant rice! I won’t be coming back.
I've been dining at Jambo Africa since they were located at Shingle Creek. While it can be a bit expensive, the food is definitely worth it.
