This historic site, known as the birthplace of Maine, was a must-see for me as I delve into my family’s roots in Colonial America. Visiting it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, our waitress was friendly and warm, and the FOOD was exceptional. My husband and I ordered the king prime rib, and I can assure you that those portions were definitely not just 14oz—they were at least 18oz! Loved the atmosphere and everyone who worked here who we interacted with was *lovely* af. We got the baked lobster and the baked seafood medley and both were great. I loved the lobster, it was perfectly cooked and the scallops were excellent. I’m not sure I’d get the baked lobster again though because the stuffing in some ways distracted from the exceptional quality of the lobster itself. Fantastic though and glad I tried it! Side potatoes were great but broccoli was over cooked. The portion size for the Baked Seafood Medley was a bit on the small size!

Second time here and chose same meal again. Super friendly and attentive bartender, Kay Kay. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend lobster stew and the seafood scampi. So much fresh seafood in a delicious broth. If it had a little fresh garlic and a tad more salt in the broth, it would be even better. Salad with scallops was great. Locals recommend the haddock sandwich. Love the atmosphere at the bar. Will be back.

Absolutely amazing experience. Hands down the best food, service, atmosphere we have ever experienced in any restaurant. KK and the rest of the staff were funny, prompt and really made the atmosphere great. Has itself to the cook(s) that a meddrainic chicken unlike any we ever had, and muscles that knock your sucks off delicious! We live two hours away, but we'll be back! Go on!
Family friendly and nice spot to dine or get happy hour outdoors. Solid starters, we shared mussels, nothing especially notable in food quality or taste, but a good, predictable traditional Maine seafood forward menu catering to tourists. Brought out oftowners, might return for happy hour. Wish they had more Maine forward beer selection to accompany the seafood! Friendly staff!
