This is one of those few oddball places that has been around Greensboro longer than I have, but yet, I had somehow never stopped in until recently. It wasn't our original destination, the place we tried to go was not open on Mondays, but Jam's was right there and I said let's give it a shot. While it seems from other reviews they may have some consistency issues, our visit was great! I was in the mood for hot dogs, and not having any idea how theirs were, I went for a pair all the way with hot chips. I love Jam's! It's such a staple in Greensboro and the food is consistently delicious. They have SO many options, something for everyone! I've never had a bad meal here. It's counter style ordering and then they call your name to pick up: easy, fast and the food is always fresh and hot. Prices are pretty good, of course they have risen with the rise of everything else, but still reasonable and good portions. The atmosphere has remained the same for years with vintage decor and tables. I miss the Martinsville Road location as it was much closer to my house, but this one is worth the special trip! We've been dining at Jam's Deli for years, but it seems we won't be returning or ordering from them again. We decided to try our dependable favorite, the fish sandwich, and we were quite disappointed. The fish was overcooked, and the curly fries were neither curly nor flavorful. The sandwich itself was nearly inedible due to its toughness and overcooking. We finished our meal mainly to share this review and warn potential diners who might expect the quality they used to enjoy. Unfortunately, that’s not what we received this time.
Jams has been a staple for quite some time, and it has consistently delivered delicious food. During my recent visit with a group of nine, our meals were served in about ten minutes, which was impressive. The service was excellent, and the restaurant maintained a clean atmosphere. I tried the pimento cheese BLT, and it was delicious. However, the curly fries were just average; they used to be more like Arby's curly fries, which I loved. I'm not sure why the change occurred. For fast service and good deli foods, go to Jam's. It's an average deli with a very large selection on the menu. It's a walk-up order, take food and sit or leave place. They have few requests for gluten free options, therefore don't have GF bread. It's conveniently located near Quaker Village center.
This local family sandwich shop is a Greensboro staple! Great place to eat lunch, get takeout, meet up with friends! Sit and eat with the locals. The daily specials are always delicious! Fresh meats, sliced as you order. Service is friendly and welcoming. Counter ordering.
I ordered the Reuben and my wife had the Meatball Parm Sandwich, and both dishes were delicious. The standout for me, though, was the French fries. I'm not sure how they achieve their unique shape, but they were fantastic!

I had my first job at Jam's, and I'm happy to say that the food is still as delicious as it was 20 years ago. I still enjoy dipping the fries in the Russian dressing!
