Agree with review already left by jacw2000. Seating outside including 2 x Double Deck Chairs and can catch the sun from around 1145 until about 1330 before it disappears again behind the trees. Have sampled Apfel Strudel, Gluhwein, Skiwasser, Schnitzel mit Pomme Frittes and Currywurst mit Pomme Frittes; all excellent and good prices/value for money. Whilst you do order inside for food, it is brought out to you. Most entertaining watching others come down the section of piste outside whilst enjoying a refreshment or two and easy to spend too much time here when you should be back on the piste yourself! Anyone ascending and never stopping by is missing out!
Big terrace at foot of slope on the way down to Ellmau Snow was heavy and getting slushy by mid afternoon but I managed not to wipe out, much to the disappointment of the terrace audience. You go inside to order food; but if you...just want to get drinks, there is a little window into the bar at the end of the terrace. An old man, or possibly a gnome, dwells therein and serves the booze. Large beer 3.30 Mineral water 2.00 We resisted the temptation to order coffee and cakes even though the next table was full of Germans doing exactly that. A very pleasant place surprising to see it offering self service as it feels more like a waiter service joint.

While you order after eating, it will be delivered to you. Most entertaining are watching others come out the section of the pistes while enjoying a refreshment or two and simply spending too much time here when you get back on the slope itself! Nach sechs Stunden Skifahren ohne Mittagessen dachten wir an ein Bier und einen schnellen Snack. Das Interieur ist winzig, aber die Küche arbeitet schnell! Ich hatte meine Lieblingstiroleaner, die mir einen Germknödel oder einen Hefekloß mit einer Fruchtfüllung serviert in geschmolzener Butter oder Vanillesoße und bestreut mit Puderzucker und Mohnsamen. Einer meiner Freunde genoss eine Käsesuppe. Es war wunderbar, draußen zu sitzen und sich abzukühlen, bevor man am Ende eines Skitages zurück ins Hotel geht.
Ich habe das Haus Lead während des Skifahrens im Februar 2017 besucht, nachdem es mir empfohlen wurde, und habe dort zum Mittagessen angehalten. Wirklich schöne, kleine Hütte in der Nähe der Talstation Hartkaiserbahn an der blauen Piste. Leckeres Essen und Trinken und die Terrasse ist um 12 Uhr von der Sonne verwöhnt, als wir angehalten haben. Gerne würden wir beim nächsten Mal in Ellmau wieder vorbeischauen.
Visited the Hausleitenstubn while skiing in February 2017 after it was recommended to me and stopped for lunch. Really beautiful, little hut situated close to the Hartkaiserbahn valley station on the blue run. Lovely food and drink and the terrace is bathed in sun around 12 noon when we stopped. Would love to visit when we're next bacWe'll be back next time we're in Ellmau.
