Enough time has passed with this new establishment that I could give an honest and thorough opinion/review. I loved this place very much throughout the years, and I could say with confidence that it was my favorite spot in the entire city. Whether I was leaving high school, visiting on my off-days from work, or studying for other things, this was always the first spot that would come to mind for almost a decade. It was surprising to see that the place was sold, keeping the same name and function as a café, and I was very sad to see that the couches were the first thing to go after the renovation. Great place. There are a lot of new things on the menu, so far I’ve tried matcha, black sesame, injeolmi and Lotus cream croffles. They are pretty big and filling. Jolly pong milkshake also got added and I loved it! I really like the clean, minimalistic aesthetic. The old couches that held dust mites, sticky liquids and all the farts for the past decade are gone.
This has become my favorite Cafe in Chicago. I had bingsoo ,black sesame croffle and matcha croffle. Everything was awesome. Bingsoo piled up with fresh fruits and rice cakes. Croffle was so crunchy and tasty. Black sesame cream is the best! Couldn't leave without taking deserts to go for later!
They have a new ownership so they did some reservation and have new items on their menu. Their croffle are amazing! And their new drinks are all delicious. Their service is 10/10. The lattes are so good, it’s such a cute spot I love sitting by the window. And you have to try a croissant waffle. So crunchy and yummy. One of my favorite spots. Come early before the kids get out of class.
Extremely friendly staff, clean quiet atmosphere, and HOT beverages also kind enough to serve free water. Very delicious food. Will definitely be back for sure.
What a bummer. They changed the whole aesthetic of the place. Gone are the couches and good food and in their place, cold furniture and boring atmosphere.
