But then it took more time to find us a spot which was strange, because we reserved four seats, in a tiny venue with mainly four seater tables, so I thought they would hold seats for everyone that reserved a spot apparently not and we ended up in a “side room” that was essentially behind the stage. We couldn’t see the band. Our waitress had to cross the stage every time she came to take an order. Kind of strange for paying 15£ per person to reserve seats. But it unfortunately got worse. Saturday night 6pm Soho was heaving! Tried Bar Termini no chance! getting thirsty! Daughter and I nearly walked past Jazz after Dark which would have been a considerable shame. Saw it had a couple of empty seats and managed to get a small table. Cocktails ordered also nice to see a selection of Old School Soho glitterati amongst the usual Saturday nighters. reminiscent of Soho in the 60 's. Apparently frequented by Amy Winehouse. The owner is also an artist and his pictures are exhibited on the walls as well as Amy memorabilia. At about 7pm the bloke sitting behind us got up went to the small stage and started singing the most eclectic range of songs I 've ever heard. His stamina was amazing...
We had a perfect night of live music good drinks. The Jada Funk trio was fantastic, w/ 2 vocalists fun repertoire of favorites. Most jazz venues that I’ve seen have higher cover (than 10 per person), plus have extra 1-2 drink minimum. I had trouble booking online with my phone, so we popped by at 5 or 6 to make our reservation for later (in person). The manager was not rude at all, rather accommodating. Our table was reserved, with no troubles. Yes, the venue is small. And, waitstaff had to navigate tight space to deliver food and drinks. The food was awful, it tasted worse than if it came from Iceland, nothing could be salvaged in the food platter, no effort has been made to improve on the food. To make things worse, they even claimed that they run out of chips, and they did not even have a Tabasco in order to make the food a bit more bearable…. And it was expensive for the quality…. In other words, DO NOT Buy food there. And to crown the evening, there was supposed to be a live Jazz band, with a singer calling herself an African name, exciting according to the reviews, and it turned out to be a middle age white woman who did not even have a good voice… The band was more akin to a karaoke show. Took a chance on this for New Year's Eve as I booked late and everything else was sold out. The staff were very nice. However, the place was very small, seating very close to others and the acts were below par. I am not sure I would have described the majority of the performance as jazz either. The place needs a complete furniture overhaul. Was overpriced at £30 entry. I can honestly describe this place as a dive.
Ran by and increasingly miserable old woman. I’ve been here many times over the years due to the nostalgia etc. but she’s basically ruining this joint and one day she’ll be gone and the place will stand a fresh chance of hospitality, quality and character again. Shame she tarnished the name of great artists who have played here.
A small, intimate, fantastic jazz bar with food, drinks and live music. Friendly staff and all seats up close to the live music. It is almost a small shrine to Amy Winehouse who performed there regularly, with paintings in the small gallery room done by a local artist that knew Amy personally.
Arrived early evening. Managed to get a table. Very cosy. Friendly. Memphis signing before the band . Great fun. Stayed for a couple of bottles of wine! Will return for the evening event

Jamaican doorman set the scene for an extremely unpleasant experience. Plenty of fantastic bars in Soho and many across London with decent jazz avoid this overpriced, obnoxious rathole.
Very bad place. She is very rude person and my child lost desire to learn violin class. Miss Irina was even hurting my child hand. Never ever go to this place.
