Best ice cream in the world! It's been our family tradition for generations to come to Jelberts whenever we can, we're there the first day they open right through to the day they close. The winter months have always been so long waiting for them to open again. We always go for tubs and have the cream separate so we can choose how much cream to have on our ice cream, one thing you should be aware of is it's only vanilla but trust me it's worth it! Staff are super lovely and all their pots, lids and spoons are biodegradable now. Also it's all on street parking so you might have to drive around to find a spot. Enjoy
Lovely little find in Newlyn, but for visitors to be aware it’s just the one Cornish vanilla flavour (but very tasty). However it’s the addition of clotted cream which is truly unique. If you want to take it even further then flakes are optional too. Good to see all tubs recyclable and wooden spoons available so massive thumbs up for environmental responsibility. A Cornish institution but can’t quite compete with other local producers purely due to the single flavour. The only reason it’s not 5*. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.
Absolutely amazing ice cream! I loved it! My wife and I visited a few days ago on the recommendation of a friend, who said it had the best homemade Cornish ice cream they’d ever had—and we were not disappointed. I would definitely recommend giving it a try! I just wish it were on my way, so I could enjoy it every day instead of having to travel almost halfway there!
The ice is certainly beautiful, but the fact that only cash is accepted in 2022 is unimaginable. Being directed to the co-op cash machine is not convenient for customers. Please, get a card machine! I love the simplicity of this ice cream shop. They only serve vanilla so it’s a good job it’s very tasty! You can add clotted cream for 40p. At first this seemed like it might be too much but I went for it and you should too what a combo! It’s cash only so take some out before you go.
A charming and traditional Cornish ice cream shop. The homemade clotted cream served alongside the classic Cornish ice cream is absolutely delicious. It's definitely one of my favorite ice cream places in Cornwall!
Why do multiple flavours when you’ve reached perfection with just the one. Add clotted cream for the ultimate indulgence.
