We always love coming here for the food. The food is always delicious. However, our service has not been the greatest. We weren’t greeted at the door and waited 15 minutes before someone said anything to us. Our server wasn’t in very much of a rush to get anything to us. We waited probably 10 minutes before he brought us our waters and the same when I asked for a to go box. We also had an older man walked past our table as he was leaving and let out a huge fart which was just horrendous (I know that’s not the restaurants fault, I just couldn’t believe that someone would fart on us as we were eating). We really love the food, we just hate coming in to eat
I really loved this place at first and would have recommended it to everyone. However, my recent experience changed my mind. When I visited, I sat down and was completely ignored. The server walked by me six times without even offering a drink. I ended up getting my fried clams before I even received anything to drink! Since then, I haven't returned and I don’t plan to spend any more money there. I've also shared this experience with many friends, and they've reported similar issues. As a result, Jewel City Seafood has lost an entire family as customers.
We had a great experience overall. We ordered the Thursday special, which included a pound of fried whitefish and two sides for just $12.95. We shared that along with an appetizer and ended up being quite satisfied. The appetizer we chose was fried zucchini, which felt a bit pricey—almost as much as the special. The soda drinks were also over $3.50 each. However, all the food was delicious. The atmosphere has a simple nautical theme and the restaurant is quite small. They do take reservations for Fridays and Saturdays.
The food is bland. Today was my last time going here for food. I got the whiting dinner and the fish was fried perfectly but it lacked flavor! The green beans also had no flavor besides tasting like they came straight from the can. It’s disappointing because I use to love this place when they were located on 5th ave. It’s changed a lot.

Don 't believe the claims that they serve fresh seafood. I ordered blackened mahi-mahi for dinner. Not only was it not blackened, but the fish had obviously been frozen. It was as tough as old shoe leather and had no taste at all.
This place has great food at reasonable prices. The menu is BIG with great seafood choices at very reasonable prices. Wish this place was in Fort Wayne.
Awesome first time experience! Fried white fish, hush puppies and clam strips. Great service, very friendly staff. Will come back!
I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is consistently excellent, and the service is spot on. Jewel City never lets me down!
