Don’t judge a book by its cover. I found Jiang Nan Spring in Eater for a family/birthday get together for 11. The exterior could use some improvement, kinda worried me since it was our first visit. They had plenty of free parking which is nice these days. When you walk in, we were very impressed compared to exterior. simple yet elegant decor. It was like walking into a nice boutique hotel. Above average food quality and tastes. Mainland Chinese cuisine that is not Cantonese, Teochew, not Hokkien. Some seafood items are market priced. Lobster was $40/pound when I visited and also required a 1-day advance order. Excellent attentive service from the staff. 1 VIP room area with 2 tables, each seating 10. Minimum charge for a VIP table is $400. Rice is $1.95 per bowl (not large). Nothing special about the interior. Plenty of free parking. For those who like pork belly, get the Dong Po pork. Went there on a Wednesday lunch around 12.. outside didn't look like much, but when you enter, interior is actually really modern and nice. They have lunch specials at GREAT prices especially for these days. They also give you a hot and sour soup! We had the egg with tomatoes and a fried fish. Egg with tomatoes was actually good. The fried fish, perhaps I'll pass and try something else next time. They have a pretty good selection of lunch specials!
