Living in Gungahlin, it's an easy walk or drive to Forde to visit Jimmy's Palace for a meal. We have had a few meals here over the past 2 or 3 years and they're always enjoyable.We popped in recently for dinner - 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 teenagers. The staff were friendly and welcoming and attentive to our needs, bringing us water almost us soon as we were seated. Our order was simple. Vegetarian laksa, honey chicken and steamed rice, with drinks to accompany. The meals were served quickly and they were fresh and hot. Being a very decent size, my daughter and I shared the laksa and were both satisfied. My wife and son shared the honey chicken and rice and even had some left over to take home...
I can't say this place is truly awful, but quite frankly, any restaurant that believes capsicum and cabage should make up 60-70% of the volume of a meat dish is just... wrong.There are a few good choices on the menu, and it's great on a budget, but if you're in the area, I recommend taking the extra few minutes to drive into gunghalin market place and sample the far greater selection there.
This being close to home we get takeaway and have eaten there as well. Usually when we eat there it is fab, but takeaway very average. I agree with other reviewers on this restaurant too much onion in your dishes, veggies leave a bit to be desired when you can get better veggies elsewhere Or better still, just cook them yourself!!
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was fairly empty, not surprising as we ate early. The food was fresh and tasty, although did take a while to all be served. The restaurant is large and modern in a local shopping centre. Parking was full in front, although a large car park was at the rear of the shops.

We have found Jimmys to be a reliable local Chinese takeaway with good quality food. I particularly like the Omelettes and the fresh prawns. The only down side is that one of the chefs used a little too much MSG causing me a headache and raging thirst the next day. If you don't like MSG probably best to steer clear.
Went to Jimmy's with extended family. Nice ambience, food excellent. The boss - Jimmy? - apologised bringing the food out sparodically, but with sharing around worked out ideally.
We recently ordered a takeaway dinner rom this venue, the meals were ok ,but nothing to write home about, when next in Canberra we will look for other options
My Wife and I decided to go the chinese pick up and found it to be pretty good. Average price for chinese food next time we will dine in.
