Let me just say this is the best JJ Fish Chicken. I was out running errands and got a little hungry. As I was driving down Roosevelt. I saw JJ's and decided to stop and get an order of chicken wings. This location has a wide variety of food items to choose. The food menu has chicken, fish, salad, desserts, Philly steak sandwiches. The list goes on. You won't be disappointed. The food is fresh and well- seasoned. I ordered the 3 chicken wings and 3 perch dinner. I recommend ordering online. The line and waiting time for your food is a bit long. But it's worth it. Overall, I had a satisfying lunch experience. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, especially the catfish and wings, which I highly recommend. I ordered lunch and was served chicken that tasted like it was a day old. Anyone who's had reheated chicken knows what I'm talking about. This was their second chance with me. The last time I visited this location for lunch, I ordered a chicken Philly, and once again, the chicken tasted like it was old. To make matters worse, it made me throw up less than an hour after eating. Today was the last straw for me. They really need to improve their food quality. It's both disappointing and unacceptable.
I should have taken some pictures. They are amazing. I get the grilled shrimp salad or the shrimp salad w rice and the best grilled onions bell pepper on this side of the mississippi. That's a fact. That's only 2 items in the BIG menu. I never had a bad meal from them. I will be heading back in a few days and will show some pictures. p.s. Very nice size shrimps. The JUMBO shrimps are HUGE. All I can say is WOW!!! I suggest trying the steak, chicken and shrimp Philly Cheese sandwich. I will be back to try other foods. They have a lot of food to choose from. The steak fries were not the best but they were okay.
I was in the area and visited this location. The Chicken was a little overcooked and salty. The portion of the french fries needs to be more as well if you getting a 9-piece Wings Dinner.
Grew up eating here. Illinois can't get any better than the Maywood location! All JJ Fish are not created equal. Western suburbs locations are not the same as City goodness!!!!!!!
