I never post a review on food as I’m not critical! BUT. The wait, the cost (34.00 with tip) and the size of the advertised “pickerel” was (4 pieces and added small fry) SHOCKING Calling the management after I got home resulted in this explanation.“ They are small as we debone the fish”. Can you imagine I actually was compelled to measure the fish to prove to my husband who was elsewhere, that this fish looks and tastes like perch! I fish, clean, cook and eat fish from L. Nipissing all summer! My order tasted and looked like perch! Also, 4.5 inch Pickerel are NOT in the slot size. 5.00 a piece plus tax and tip! Do not recommend.
First off I want to say it’s a tradition every time we go north for the last 5 years we ALWAYS stop here and food is ALWAYS delicious!! But this time I was so disappointed! My grilled chicken tasted like hamburger and was nasty in a Cesar wrap!! And my poutine barely had gravy and fries were soggy!! I feel as they get bigger the food is tasting like crap! I will give them one more try I hope I’m not disappointed again!! Food: 1
Updated 2024.09.19 This place is good for filling up your gas tank and your stomach. It is window service, you line up, order, pay, wait for your number to be called in around ten minutes, pickup order and eat on their outside tables or inside. Their fish and coleslaw are very good, their poutine and fries are filling but only fair, not all that good. Canned drinks are available. Credit cards accepted. Food: 3
Legitimately the worst fish chips I've ever had. No batter seems like they're just dipped in flour and fried, overly salty with the added bonus with no seasoning on the fries. As well $18.50 for 2 pieces and fries with a drink is highway robbery. I've had real fish chips for much less and tasted a million times better. The best best fish and chips around the North Bay, Ontario area. If you like fresh caught pickerel fish and chips or Poutine( your choice) any traveller's in the area.
