As a newcomer to the area and having only heard about Joe's through Barstool's One Bite review, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, the change in ownership has led to a Joe's that is clearly not the same as what Portnoy reviewed in 2021. The new owners, who have no affiliation with the original owners, are trying to preserve the old décor and even display vintage photos of the founder. However, after several visits, we found the food to be quite disappointing. The pizza dough was subpar, and the sandwiches didn't match the ingredients listed on the menu, tasting more like cheap, processed supermarket items from childhood craft projects. Even the hot sandwiches were served cold and lacke...
The food is excellent, but the service is disappointing. The staff comes across as arrogant and seems to treat customers poorly, almost as if we’re not valued. When ordering takeout, I was given no napkins and had to request a bag to carry my food. Overall, it’s a frustrating experience.
Was unaware my favorite neighborhood place is under new management, Lauren and Neil are gone and the food is absolutely terrible. It’s just upsetting when new management just destroys the quality of food, this place will be out of business soon.

Easily the best pizza in mount vernon. I'm from little Italy (the bronx the REAL little italy) and I'm somewhat of a pizza snob. Haven't tried anything else on the menu yet but the pizza is delish.
Bad food new owner. People are friendly but it's not good food anymore. Unfortunate. Penne ala vodka was not good. Meatballs taste like they're frozen. Will no longer go to my neighborhood spot.
They recently sold the business, and it's just not the same anymore. I would recommend going to Scalas instead.
