First time there last night (09/02) after being invited by one of my guys who was actually the DJ there that night and unfortunately I will not be returning. Upon arrival, my guest and I were met with extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism from the lady at the door collecting money. I’m not going to go in here on comments but I am happy to share with whoever would like more specific info privately via inbox if interested. Otherwise, very disappointed and unhappy with the quality of experience overall, I hope she never has to get treated the way we were. We didn’t even stay 5 minutes afterwards. Very poor experience, don’t recommend.
I felt all the Vibez there. Have been looking for a spot to be myself and enjoy good music, people and food. Went here for a Christmas party and showed out so it's only fitting I support this business. Can't wait to come back and enjoy myself once again. This place should be listed as a soul food restaurant because the food is top notch....ie fried chicken, seasoned greens , candy yams , corn bread all were delicious If you're ever in the Albany area and looking for a spot with a great atmosphere , food , and music you must pull up on Johnnie's on Broadway

Nice crowd. The crowd is an older crowd. I've heard on most nights its 27yrs and up to enter. They do ID and check bags/pockets. When I last visited the DJs were DJ A.R. Dollar, DJ CEO and DJ Nameless. The bar was open and they make good drinks. The kitchen was also open. They serve finger foods.
Johnnie's is a hidden gem! The food is fantastic, thanks to a chef who truly cooks with passion. The service is warm and inviting, and the atmosphere is enjoyable, enhanced by smooth 90s R&B playing in the background. Plus, the drinks are excellent and reasonably priced.
They serve for late night. Suppose to close at 2 but turn on the lights at 130 most times but if you come in at 120 they will still take your money and not refund you. Great security and good music.
It was just an average experience. The owner wasn't particularly friendly, but the bartender was fantastic. I can't remember her name, but I do recall that it started with a B! Haha.

Great spot. Go early get food drinks and go about ya business before it gets packed
Should have 1 or 2 low tables for those who don't want to sit at the bar.
