So last night I thought I was having my first “you’re officially old” moment when I was at Jonny Blacks off Baldwin. The music was so freakin loud. The four of us were shouting at one another from across the table and yelling at our partners next to us after being asked “what??”Our waitress (20ish) came to greet us and take our drink order, she also couldn’t hear ?. I don’t know how many times I had to say Ice Tea before she rolled her eyes and got frustrated and came over to my side and said “I’m sorry, the music is so loud, what would you like?” Poor thing. Pizzas were not good. Need to rethink the menu imo. Brussel sprout pizza needs either acidity or spice to balance the flavors, carbonara pizza needs a LOT more black pepper and didn't have any egg yolk taste, maybe brush on some yolk when it comes out of the oven, or grate some cured egg yolks onto it. Bacon was just fat on top that was barely cooked. Tried ordering cocktails but the server informed us that they are out of that cocktail instead of having the bartender come over and ask about ingredient substitutions.Fried pickles and dipping sauce were good!Server was nice, but he was touching his beard every time he was in the back near the coffee.Music was as loud as a 1am bar, which made...
Stopped here on taco Tuesday before a concert at Pine Knob. Convenient and easy to get in and out. I was hoping for a couple items in the special menu, but they were out. Something going on with the tortillas for the tacos too… the burrs taco though was delicious. I had a pizza, good detroit style, but it needed more sauce for my liking. The dough was a bit under done. Still was a fine pie the food at everyone’s table around us looked good. So I’m sure some of it can be attributed to being busy.
Most of the dishes were enjoyable at this restaurant. The Am Burger was delicious, the loaded skins frickles were tasty, and the cheese bread was fantastic. However, the steak bites were a letdown. The BBQ pork potato skins and salads at this restaurant are delicious. However, the house chicken fingers were disappointing as they tasted like fish and only came with four small pieces. The fries were not crispy, overly salty, and also had a fishy taste.
Great place far from Detroit. (45 minute drive). Their lunch Special for $12 is a LOT of very tasty food.Great sports bar with at least 20 TVs for viewing. I highly recommend a visit. The food and service was 5 !
This was likely the best takeout I have ever received through Doordash. The special instructions were followed perfectly. The food arrived hot and fresh. Both the AM and Western burgers were amazing.
