I should have reviewed this the first time we visited, but suffice to say if I 'm back..it 's good! Great local place with excellent servers who genuinely care about your experience! What can I recommend? Well the margarita I had on the first trip was great...tonight was a glass of wine...but overall beverage selections are great! Food wise: the smoked fish spread is really good...I had it with tortilla chips instead of crackers...but really good. The stuffed shrimp over the scampi would be my vote given there were three shrimp on the scampi and the stuffed shrimp were plentiful and good! Loved the calamari but I got the sweet chili sauce instead of marinara...Caution: their website maintena...
I strongly suggest staying far far away from the fish and chips. And I see I'm not the only one that complained about them either here. Even my mother noticed that they seemed to look way too fried, and they were. Shortly after eating there, I ended up with horrible runs for the next two days, as well as acid reflux, which I've never had in my life. They seriously need to have a chat with their cook because you're literally making people sick and that is not right. Other than that, my parents' fish wasn't bad but not great. It was nice that for Mother's day they gave a free glass of champagne. Our server was really nice and attentive. The decor was pretty cool. I wouldn't come back, though,...
Came in at the last minute for Happy Hour! It was packed! I found the last seat at the bar and ordered a drink and the pow pow shrimp and potato skins. The bartender was busy but put my order in fairly quick. I can't remember the name of the drink but for a drink and two decent sized appetizers my bill was like $25! I would definitely visit again when I'm back in the area. The shrimp was really tasty and hot. I loved the sauce. The potato skins were also really good. I love ranch with my potato skins and I didn't love the ranch but everything else was awesome!
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, with excellent ribs and tasty fish tacos. However, the Caribbean rice side lacked flavor. There are seating options available both indoors and on the patio, though the views of the beach aren’t present. The menu offers a wide variety of choices. It would have been helpful to have a wet wipe included with the ribs. Additionally, I noticed a 3% credit card fee that wasn't mentioned anywhere beforehand. Want a heart attack? Eat here. The food is not cooked to order. We ordered the $25 plate of fish and chips, came out not even 5 minutes after. I think the food was sitting out for a long time and they deep fried food twice. The sweet potatoe fries were so drenched in oil they didn’t taste like sweet potatoes. Just like grease. I can’t believe a restaurant charging this much for fish would have the audacity to serve this slop.
We went for dinner tonight being our last night at Palm Beach Shores. Johnny Longboats does not have Internet for customers. The wait staff said it interferes with their handheld devices they use to order and complete the bill. Unfortunately, the chicken wings were cold. A little while later we ordered a side of french fries and they came me hot so we know they do know how to make hot food. My wife loved her mussels.
This was my first visit, and I was impressed by both the food and the service. The island music playing softly in the background added to the atmosphere, making me feel like I was dining in the Caribbean. I definitely plan to return. Plus, they offer Wi-Fi!
