I highly recommend Johns Restaurant The food is wonderful, I love the pizza (my brother always orders some fish thing for his plate that is really good too). The place feels nice and welcoming too, making for a pleasant spot to have dinner with friends and family and hold conversations. In a prior experience, I even got to talk to the owner who was quite nice and seems to delight in talking to customers. This experience though, our waitress Maggie was exceptional. I just left with 2 Italian beef for carry out. They messed up my order again. We ordered 2 Italian beef, one with green peppers and the other with hot peppers and we got one with green peppers and cheese and the other with cheese only. By the time you take off the disgusting cheese there's not much meat. The buns were bad, the beef had no flavor and the cheese was cold like rubber. I asked for no cheese because I don't like rubbery cold cheese! They probably put it on to jack up the bill because $25+ is a lot for 2 lousy Italian beef sandwiches. The service here was really good. The food was unfortunately just ok. The minestrone soup was decent and chock full of veggies, though some should have been chopped a bit smaller. The bread was underwhelming. The lasagna was huge and pretty tasty, but the sauce was overly sweet. The surprise small scoop of ice cream that comes with the meal was a nice finish.

I give 5 star not only is the food and pizza amazing and fresh every time but the staff is so helpful patient and polite I recommend this place over any place in Rockford
