Our family loves to go to Juns and share it with friends as well. Truly a hidden gem, Juns has some of the best sushi we’ve experienced in KC. We often sit in the “tatami room” which is a fun place to kick off your shoes and have a nice intimate experience with friends on elevated platforms. Alternatively there is a sushi bar where you can enjoy seeing the masters at work. There is also a typical didn’t room and bar if that’s more your speed. Prices are reasonable for sushi and the quality is really where Juns shines. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The sushi bar has a fun talkative atmosphere. I recently ordered takeout hibachi steak and hibachi chicken from this restaurant. I was disappointed to find that both dishes were lacking in flavor. However, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant was relaxed, clean, and inviting. These positive aspects are the only reason I am giving this restaurant two stars instead of one. I am not a culinary expert or harsh critic, but the lack of taste in the food was surprising to me. Jun's is one of my go-to spots, and this visit was no exception. It was my third time here, and as always, it was fantastic. We had a party of 9, but with reservations, they seamlessly accommodated us. Our server was exceptional—no mistakes, quick with refills, friendly, and all-around great. The food, as usual, was a delight. From delicious sushi, both cooked and raw, to surprising traditional Japanese dishes like curry, Jun's has it all. They even went the extra mile with a generous birthday dessert for one of our party members. We always look forward to dining at Jun's. Couldn’t have asked for a better birthday experience in celebrating my mother. The food was incredible, and the personable service was next level.
