WOWW!!!!!!! AMAZING AND DELICIOUS SOUL FOOD! Came to this afternoon on 12/08/2020 to pick up 3 dinners. From the beginning, when I called to my order the young man and the young lady, where very professional and helped me find out what to get, as this was my first time ordered from this place. They were very patient and respectful. When I arrived to get my food, they were very wise and brought my food to my car. I am very grateful for it and it shows how much the staff and restaurant appreciate and care for their customers. Finally got a chance to try out this place. With so many awesome restaurants in Houston, there isn't much incentive to try new places when the ones I love are consistently good. I ordered the smothered pork chops over rice, green beans and mac and cheese. The gravy had a great consistency, but it was loaded with a lot of pepper. I love lots of seasoning, but it should be well balanced. It wasn't too bad but the competition in Houston is stiff. The green beans may have been the best green beans I've ever had! I want that recipe. The mac and cheese was disappointing. Lots of mac and very little cheese. Whoever put that out needs to reconsider the industry. I give it a four because I didn't get...
Never AGAIN...This establishment has the AUDACITY to be charging 27.99 for an oxtail plate in this Nasty run down building. These prices should allow you to FIX the parking lot broken windows.So I opted for Salisbury pepper steak meals instead 19.99...1st...This was not real meat...it was processed AWFUL. My sides were sweet potatoes, dressing, Mac cheese . The Mac was NOT homemade...Everything tasted okay...except for those processed patties. The establishment is RAN down. It 's never CLEAN like you would expect...if I 'm paying this much to EAT here...at least get the broken windows fixed. This is TERRIBLE. I 've given this place chance after chance...customer service is TERRIBLE. The work...
Randomly stopped here last Friday around 2. There was no line and the staff was ready to take my order. The food was tasty and the portions are pretty good for what you pay. The cabbage was really good ! The only bad this was the salt content. I have recently started a low sodium diet, so I am very sensitive to any food that contains salt. If you?re like me, this may not be the place for you. It was not extremely salty but I definitely had to take a break when eating it so I wouldn?t get a headache. Other than that, everything was great !

Would NOT recommend you spending your money here. I hadn't been in years and it AIN'T what it use to be. I ordered fried fish with Mac and cheese and green beans... it was a salty, nasty mess. Looked and taste like kraft boxed macaroni. Only seasonal on it had to be salt. Couldn't enjoy the green beans because they were covered in the Mac and cheese sauce. The fish was flavorless. The cornbread muffin was dryer than a popeyes biscuit. Will never return. Just shut this place down, it's ran it's course
It was horrible and I will never go back there again! The food was horrible and salty. Because I wanted to return it because of it being salty; he and his staff were disrespectful and unsanitary! I see why people stop going there. I didn't being in a long time and won't be ever going again. He's too disrespectful to his customers and his staff. Only family van work for him and those that are working must don't have a choice because this man is sick!!
It was ok! Decided to visit, hadn 't been in a long time and I can tell something has changed...I had smothered porkchops, yams, mustard greens, mac n cheese. Wasnt a lot of flavor....not sure if the vegetables are fresh or more canned....it gives me canned vibrations. Nonetheless I will always support our businesses. Amp up the flavor add a little more seasonings and I will be back ?
This place is hood but so so good. For real soul food. I don’t eat meat so I can’t attest for the oxtails but I can say that the veggies specifically the cabbage and the fish was so very good. I also got a slice of vanilla cake ?. Every time I am in houston I will be making a spot at this place.

It was my first and last time there. I love to support Small businesses. The food was definitely Over priced for the small portions of food. The smother chicken was bland as well as overcooked. The Mac Cheese looked and tasted like it came from a box.Food: 1/5
The best soul food you could ever eat. Costume service was GREAT! I will always return!!
