it has been for several years since I had eaten at kabuki and fortunately it has not changed. menu offers a large selection of Japanese food with good value and fresh preparation. service was fast and attentive and eating was good. this restaurant is located in the opposite, where there are many restaurants and despite the rain a good number of customers attracted. I'll eat here in a definitive way!
I ordered the Steamed Pork Gyoza and the Sashimi Omakase Special. My only complaint with the special was the sauces used. I'm not a spice guy and it seemed like that was who this dish served. I like plain masago, octopus by itself and no sweet or spicy drizzle. The sheer quantity of sashimi in this dish was wonderful and I have several meals for the next few days.
The waitstaff was very attentive and cooperative with my severe and numerous allergies. (Not many options for one who is allergic to ALL fish and shellfish. We had a reservation for 5 and they gave us a tatami room and didn't bat an eye when we ended up with 6 and a baby. It was a delightful room for us to talk and celebrate a birthday.
Quality of food was good, as it must be in a sushi restaurant, but all of the non-sushi dishes were way too salty. Salad, brussels sprouts, soup, were all loaded with sodium. Tawny was a great server, seemed eager to please. Uni not very fresh. Food sometimes very good and other times not so good, not constant. Soup on one visit was so salty it could not be eaten, next time it was perfect. Overall a good value with many choices.
the food was good, but the service was not terrible. not sure why, but they couldn't get anything right. Normally would not be a bad evaluation, but this place just didn't seem to be taking care. too many mistakes for me, even listing here.
