I have ordered delivery twice from this place. Both times the food came well packed and without any spills. I also wasn't missing any items. The first time i ordered a shrimp egg roll, wonton egg drop soup, three regular roll special, general tso's chicken combo dinner and orange chicken combo dinner. The shrimp egg roll is absolutely delicious. I would order that over and over again. The wonton egg drop soup is not that great. I wouldn't order it again. The wonton's themselves are really thick. For the rolls i ordered the crunchy spicy kani roll, the spicy crunch shrimp and the shrimp tempura roll. All three were absolutely delicious and filling. This establishment is good. Upon entering I noticed it was a buffet restaurant. I was assuming it was solely a sushi restaurant. The waiters and waitresses worked more robotic. Once you're seated they take your drink order and then they assume you're going to the buffet bar. I wasn't interested in buffet I wanted sushi only. The waitress seemed clueless after I mentioned I don't want buffet. So a gentleman standing by the front door took our order. It took awhile to come but it was good. My daughter ordered a salmon roll but she said it taste like a tuna roll. Overall it was good but because everyone seems clueless about ordering sushi only I gave them 3 stars.
Kai is an exceptional Asian restaurant known for its unwavering culinary excellence. Over the years, I've been a loyal patron, and it has never failed to impress me. Their standout dishes include succulent ribs paired with flavorful house fried rice, delectable chicken wings complemented by oyster sauce, and a delightful shrimp and broccoli combo. Whenever I introduce someone to Kai, they become instant fans, returning for more. If you're seeking top-tier Asian cuisine in the Bronx without trekking to Chinatown, Kai comes highly recommended.
Wow!!! Absolutely loved this place. Met up with one of my best friends there last night to grab a bite. First of all, they included a free appetizer with some yummy sauces for us to have while we waited for our food. It’s been a while since I’ve been to a restaurant that did this. Great first impression! The sushi was pretty good and so was the appetizer (pictured below). The waiters were also super nice and friendly. I will definitely be going back. Keep up the great job!! My family and I really enjoyed our time at Kai. The food was delicious, the service was fast, and the staff was great! My kids loved the food (I have a picky son) and even wanted dessert. I needed wheelchair access to get in, which they only have steps in the front…the staff was so accommodating at Kai, as they opened their back door for us, and made things so easy and pleasurable. Definitely will be returning soon! Thank you for a wonderful night.
Food was good and service was mediocre. Upon arrival I killed a bug of some sort on my napkin. Not sure what kind of bug it was but it was unpleasant to know it was crawling near the silverware on the table. The dining experience was overall good. Recommend this spot if you want sushi at an affordable rate.
My husband and I tried this local place on Valentine’s Day. The wait was about 30 minutes but we didn’t mind. The food wasn’t anything spectacular tasted like a upscale Chinese restaurant would recommend the sushi if your in the area.
