Such a warm welcome experience with amazing food. Staff was very helpful and always ready to take any special requests. They made special sushi for us. Definitely will be returning to this place. Very small and very homemade very good. Definitely a must go to place. Really good sushi high-quality. Sashimi was fantastic. Service was even better. Classic Japanese style very fun. If you're in town definitely check it out, a cute quiet little place that does food right. The sushi bar selection is good and the beer selections even better
I had made a reservation at this restaurant, but still ended up waiting around 20-30 minutes for a table since they appeared to be quite busy. Once we were seated, we ordered some rolls and appetizers. Unfortunately, they were out of oysters, so we decided to go with kama instead. The atmosphere was somewhat dim, and it was pretty noisy due to other customers. As for the food, it was decent. We tried the Seal Beach roll and the Main Street roll, and I think the fried element included crab.
Unsure why this place has amazing reviews. Staff was lovely and friendly, however the food was not great. We came here for a special occasion hoping to enjoy some great sushi and got fish and rolls covered in heavy and overpowering sauces (even the sashimi? . Was off-putting to say the least. Hopefully we just caught them on an off day, but not worth wasting the money for another try.
I can honestly say I had one of the best experiences of my life. I'm not a fan of sushi but everything that was made for me and my table was amazing. Everyone at the restaurant was genuinely happy to be there. It was a great environment and a place I am looking forward to revisiting. Kaito is the only place I will have sushi from from here on out. Everyone in my party that got sushi really enjoyed it. Which I get is probably what most people go there for. However, I got the teriyaki chicken and it was not edible. The teriyaki sauce was the worst thing I've ever tasted. My stomach was upset I had to go down the street and get a slice of pizza for dinner afterwards.
My husband and I wanted to give this spot a try, seeing how most of the restaurants on Main are good. ALERT**this one was not! Sushi rolls were small and didn't taste fresh at all! I hate paying for an expensive meal that wasn't worth it!! Plus, service sucked!
Great service, delicious food, and very hospitable. We felt like we were eating at a friend's home. Loved the Jude roll and jalapeño roll. My family and I will definitely be back.
