This restaurant is reservation only. Like many businesses they are short of staff so they ask patrons to be understanding of this. The restaurant was very busy so we had to wait a bit for our reservation. We got the last reservation of that day so it is understandable that when it came time to order they were out of the Friday special so I had the seafood platter. The halibut was so dry it was inedible. The salmon was cooked a bit better, but still too dry. The rice pilaf, prawns, and scallops were delicious. Went here for the first time with my husband and mother-in-law. Hanna was our server and she gave us an exceptional service! We had some oyster, the steak special and some cheesecake. The steak I hope have the sauce on side so we can just dip the pudding in it. Aside from that, everything was great! Highly recommend to phone them to get the best sit in the house specially if you are celebrating a special occasion! Overall, we had great experience! :
Awesome dinner last night, had the special rib eye and it was fantastic with a peppercorn sauce. Crab cakes and prawn cocktail were also great starters. My wife really enjoyed her salmon. The owner served us and you sure can see the difference from an employee to the care you get when the owner is on the floor dealing with customers. Top quality food during our getaway. We ordered the Salmon and NY Striploin Prawns for dinner. The Salmon was well cooked (moist!! With the pilaf and creamed leeks being perfectly seasoned. Steak was done exactly as ordered with medium, and prawns were not overdone. Highly recommend, but also make sure to make a reservation as they're always busy and wait times can be long. Both the food and the service were excellent. When asked if we would like dessert I mentioned that maybe the birthday boy would. He ordered the cheesecake. The waitress brought it out with a lit candle! It was delicious. When we received our bill they had “compted” the dessert. This restaurant went above and beyond. I highly recommend them.
We had a really lovely romantic dinner at Kalvas! Excellent drinks, atmosphere and high end service and food! Traditional menu items done right in a very welcoming space with high end service!
