"Amazing!. My fiancée and I often go to Kanji and we love it there. Portions are big, fish is super fresh, and the service is great! The waiter is very friendly and the atmosphere is beautiful and romantic. Prices are very reasonable and there is never a waiting for placement, although it is usually quite busy. Great sushi and service. I've been going to Kanji since it opened. Roger and his wife Sue have crowned my wife and I. We sat at the sushi bar where I usually sit. The waiter came by within seconds and returned quickly with our drinks (water and free green tea). She gets my waitress of the year because she refills my drinks so quickly, including the BYOB sauce. I have the Abalone Appiitizer that is amazing. It is a combination of cut abalone with three of Roger's big sauces accompanied by an abalone and crab salad. The salad was earlier server in a real Abalone bowl, but now it is presented in a simple glass bowl. My wife got oysters who served five oysters with sauce in goggles. We both love...
We had a plan to go to the Jersey Shore Premium outlets, but we knew we would be at a time that would disturb the dinner, so I turned on the Internet to find an interesting restaurant in the area. A little look at the urban spoon brought me to Kanji, who looked interesting and tasty. TLDR: Good food, great atmosphere. We ordered sushi and hibachi, both were very good! The sweet potato roll in particular was very good. The smoked salmon roll was alright, nothing to brag about though (probably won't be ordering again). The spring rolls were excellent! The hibachi vegetable was good. It wasn't too salty which was nice, and the noodles and rice were both cooked well. The cucumber roll was good, nothing special though. The place was very clean, but smelled slightly like chlorine—almost like we were at an indoor pool or something. Great food, great feeling. I am always skeptical when it comes to trying new Japanese restaurants, but I had heard many good things about Kanji, so I decided to try. When I arrived, I was immediately impressed by the interior decor and the entire ambience. I felt like I was going to a more formal restaurant. The food was absolutely super and quite expensive; I tried both Sushi and Hibachi. The special roles were exquisite and hibachi portion was plentiful and tasty. The staff was polite and I had the pleasure of talking to the owner who was in front of the house. Kanji is a great place for high quality Japanese food and they are certainly not disappointed.
