After craving ramen one Wednesday evening, I decided to try Kappo Nara Ramen based on the great reviews I had heard. I was seated promptly and handed a menu. After a short time, I knew exactly what I wanted to order. Janelle, my fantastic server, helped me choose a green tea so I opted for the Mango Green Tea, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. The last time I checked, this place was owned and operated by Japanese husband and wife team. So if nothing has changed recently , it still ran very well because THE FOOD IS GREAT. The Fried Chicken Ramen is outstanding. The broth itself is outstanding. Here I was, craving ramen and hoping this hole in the wall spot to satisfy that. The vibe was great, customer service was excellent. The only problem I had with this visit was the kitchen. We ordered several appetizers, only half came out before our ramen. The ramen wasn't anything special. Definitely loaded down with toppings, in a quantity over quality sense. This is our favorite ramen spot in VB. Always great food, always fresh. We always get the fried chicken ramen. We especially love that my wife and I can eat here and it's less than $40 for dinner, which is rare these days. They do a tag team setup for service, so it's a little impersonal, but you can always ask any server for anything and the food flies out when it's ready so it's always hot. The best ramen in Virginia Beach! The food has such a delicious and authentic flavor. They also serve boba from Ninja Tea next door. This is the perfect place for dinner, with prices ranging from $10 to $20 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a perfect score of 5. Highly recommended dishes include the Chashu Bao and Spicy Ramen.
Staff was very welcoming. Ordered the fried chicken ramen. The fried chicken was delicious however, the broth lacked flavor or spice.
