We visited Vancouver from Regina, Saskatchewan, and wanted to try a Pakistani restaurant, so we chose Karakoram. Although we’re not familiar with other Pakistani restaurants in Vancouver, Karakoram truly offers authentic Pakistani cuisine. Unsure of what to order for our group of five, we asked the staff member Ayesha for recommendations. She suggested the BBQ platter, and every dish on it was absolutely delicious—especially the chicken karahi and chicken biryani. Visiting from California in search of a great meal, I had a wonderful dinner at this incredible restaurant! Everything from the food to the service was excellent. I didn’t expect such authentic Pakistani flavors, but every dish we ordered was flawless and reminded me of home. The Chicken Lahori Karahi was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of spice and a rich curry sauce. A big thank you to our waiter Awais for his excellent recommendations and for making our evening enjoyable with great conversation. I would definitely return if I’m ever in Vancouver again!
I ordered the Beef Biryani from Karakoram, and it was overly spicy with very little meat—only two pieces of beef. I was really disappointed. Although they did replace the dish after I complained, the portion size remained the same. To be honest, the amount of rice and meat wasn’t even sufficient for one person. Biryani isn’t just about the rice; there needs to be a good balance between the meat and rice. This is the first time I’ve encountered such a portion size at a restaurant, especially after raising a concern. I expected more from Karakoram’s menu.
Our experience at Karakoram restaurant was fantastic! The exceptional service really impressed us – we went there after a concert at 2AM and they still provided us with delicious food and outstanding customer service. Our server Reyhaneh/Rehana was incredibly welcoming and gave us top-notch service. The fact that they are open late is a major bonus. The only downside was that the interior and seating area could use some improvement. Overall, we highly recommend this place!

I was surprised to discover Karakoram at the far end of Victoria Drive, an area dominated by Vietnamese cuisine. But wow, Karakoram didn’t hold back on the spices and chili! For a moment, I felt like I had crossed to the other side of the Fraser River. A drizzle of sizzling hot oil and a sprinkle of masala for garnish would make it perfect, but the flavor alone is already excellent. Truly great food!
Karakoram offers incredible flavors and an outstanding overall experience. I will surely visit again the next time I'm in Vancouver. The staff was very helpful in guiding me through the menu, and the service was top-notch. Just a tip: leave your jacket in the car because the aroma of their delicious food tends to stay on it for some time.
Karakoram is one of the best spots in town to enjoy authentic Pakistani continental cuisine. They offer a wide variety of karahi dishes, each with its own unique and delicious flavor. The staff is very friendly, making it a great place for a pleasant family dinner where you can choose dishes to suit your taste.
Avoid this place at all costs. I ordered butter chicken and butter naan and it was the worst meal I have ever had. The naan bread was burnt and thick, and the food tasted spoiled. Shame on this restaurant for serving such low quality food.

One of the best braised lamb and beef samosas I’ve ever had!Our server was very efficient and kind.She gave us both ice cream flavours bc we couldn’t decide between mango and pistachio- we enjoyed their ice cream too!
Food was good but wish there were some yogurt or dips to balance out all the powerful spices! Also be prepared to come out smelling like food for the next few days ?
