Karilagan remains one of our favorite places for Filipino food in the San Francisco Bay Area. It's located in South San Francisco. It's been quite some time since we've come to dine in. This particular Friday, the place was not packed and it was great that we were able to find street parking. Our party of three got seated right away. We ordered the Chicken Tinola which was really savory with a generous portion of chicken, slices of fresh ginger, and bok choy. If there was one thing that was missing, it would be chunks of green papaya or chayote squash. Nevertheless, it was very savory. We were craving Crispy Pata, which is deep fried pork knuckles served with a soy-vinegar dip. It did not di...

This place in So San Francisco is right next to Max Restaurant, a Filipino Restaurant. However, don't be deceived by the look on the outside. The food they serve is good. This place only serves Filipino food and all of the items on their menu are classic Filipino food. We came for dinner and we were seated right away. We ordered the binational, Kare Kare, and Lechon Kawali. The binagoonan is made of eggplant, onions, fried pork belly, and bagoong. It's not that salty and the belly is crispy. The eggplant is soft and the flavor of the bagoong made the menu delicious. The Kare Kare is made of peanuts, oxtails, and mixed vegetables. If you're Filipino, you know how the peanut is cooked with thi...

Authentic food and a great place to catch up with friends! I'm on the hunt for the best sisig in the bay and my friends and I started off our hunt at Karilagans. The environment reminded me of my child hood and I think they were celebrating an elder's birthday here. They have lots of big tables so this would be a great place for a group. We all ordered the sisig silog and I thought it was pretty good! The portion size was hefty and the fried banana desserts were really yummy with some ice cream (which is served in a chilled metal bowl The staff were very friendly and didn't mind my friends and I chatting for a bit after we finished our food. We felt very welcome here. Karilagan is worth chec...

Karilagan is Filipino food like your nanay would make. The portions are HUGE, and everything is family-style (like Filipino food was meant to be). We tried the crispy fish/bangus, crispy binangonan, fried calamari, and (my fave) sinigang or tamarind soup.Yes, pretty much everything is deep-fried, but that's also Filipino food for you. No fancy fusion food here. Everything wasdelicious to me, especially the sinigang (extra sour, like I like it). The place looks a little run down out front and it's barebones inside. It's a hole-in-the-wall which means the food is authentic. Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

I ordered tinola and caldereta. The whole thing started to spill into the plastic bags and on my car floor. Their containers were put in paper containers. Hot soup in paper containers? When I called they told me to bring my own containers and they willmake the food again for me. They were rude and didn?t care. I had to go back and give them back the wet and soaking containers. Then they said what do we do with the food. I told them eat it. Just give me a refund. Horrible service. I will never go backhere again. Not worth the money. Quality is horrible.

The food is ok. Any filipino restaurant can provide this food. The service is terrible and slow, not to mention how rude they are on the phone. When we got to finally recieved our food, they ended up charging us for doubles of food of which we onlyordered one. They didn't bother to correct this and forced us to pay. Will not recommend, will not return. I can get this somany other places. They don't care and don't listen.

The best breakfast burrito in town! The bacon is perfectly crispy, the eggs are just right, and the balance of ingredients is spot on. Plus, it’s not greasy at all, which is a huge bonus. I can’t wait to try their lunch menu; everything looks amazing! Reserviere jetzt einen Tisch

In all of Nor Cal Kare2, Mechado, Afritada and most specially Krispy Pata are the best here! Their Turon (dessert) w or w/o ice cream is so good and different! This restaurant is under-rated. You got to try
