We came here on a Sunday night to grab dinner after having heard great things. We made the half hour drive and the place was very quiet, which I guess is expected for a Sunday. We ordered and were informed the food will take about 10 minutes to be ready as it is cooked fresh. 1 x mixed shawarma, 1 x Chicken shish and 1 x chips to share. Food arrived and we were offered salad/sauces. Both were extremely limited, the salad is just a mixed salad of lettuce, carrot and cabbage. So no option to pick the items you fancy, like in a normal kebab house as the salad they offer is already pre-mixed. Sauce options were chilli or BBQ, which I found a little odd. To be honest, i was looking forward to trying this place due to its legendary status and i was thoroughly disappointed. The lamb meat didnt have enough salt, stingy portions for cost and only chilli or bbq sauce options which i found a bit strange. The chilli sauce tasted cheap and bought in too you would think they put some effort in to this. Worst kebab ive had outside of butlins and no clue as to why its so popular hopefully was a bad day. Been eating lamb shawarma kebabs here for years and they have been excellent and I’ve given a great review a long time ago, however the last three visits have been so disappointing I won’t be going again, gristle and fatty bits of lamb each time, also more expensive and smaller than before, such a shame as it’s reputation for being the best will soon be gone.
The juicy, freshly marinated chicken or lamb packed into a warm pita with salad and spicy chili sauce is simply delicious. The double-cooked chips are also light and tasty. However, I recommend not ordering their food from Deliveroo or UberEats as it may become soggy in the delivery container. It's best to pick it up fresh yourself and enjoy it that way! I'm not normally a kebab kind of person but my sister-in-law recently moved to this area and mentioned that Kebab Kid always had huge queues and had come recommended by Jamie Oliver so we decided to grab a chicken shawarma one evening and it did not disappoint. Lovely fresh salad and tasty lean meat. I would recommend.
I will not be returning to this restaurant. The meat was dry and the pita was stale. All these positive reviews about the food are misleading, as they clearly don't know anything about kebabs. I don't understand what all the fuss is about.
I spent £10 pounds in a mixed with ships, after all I had no meet just ships and salad I dont recommend for anyone. If you go to a mcdonalds is much better, I have eat some just because I pay but...its not what you will expect.
