The bouncer, whom I’ll call Big Pauly, was a grumpy figure, standing at 6'3" and weighing around 300 pounds, dressed in a "DTF" shirt and baggy jeans. My enthusiastic group approached, eager to explore since none of us had been there before. Upon hearing the unreasonable door fee, we requested to take a look inside first. I stepped ahead a bit, but soon the bouncer blocked my view and said, "No, you have to pay to get in; you can't check it out." Seriously? I stand at 6'2" in stilettos and could still see what was going on inside: a mediocre band still setting up at nearly 11 PM and about four patrons at the bar.

We arrived at 11, and after paying a $10 cover charge because of a live band, we took a seat. However, after waiting for 20 minutes without any service—despite the owner noticing us—we decided to head to the bar. It turned out that ordering at the table wasn't an option, which was frustrating. The prices were surprisingly high, with shots costing $9 and martinis at $10 (in NYC, these typically range from $2 to $7).

Karma is a good staple in Ossining where there aren't too many nice sit down restaurants. It's almost always near empty (not sure why) so you'll never have to wait which is a plus. Their skirt steak and lomo saltado are amazing, shrimp burrito very tasty, and you absolutely must end with the churros. My biggest complaint is service is slow which is strange because I've never seen it busy and it can get frustrating waiting around for someone. And though the decor and space is really nice, the lack of people doesn't make for a fun and/or lively atmosphere which I find really important for any restaurant experience.
I'm not quite sure where to start. I arrived at Karma for their daily 2-for-1 special and took a look at the food menu. The menu has been streamlined with a new sleek English version. It remains one of the most affordable places to dine out with family. I tried the fried chicken taco; while it's not authentic, it was a decent take on American fusion. Just a heads up—the chicken isn't actually fried, but the taco shell is. I'm looking forward to coming here for breakfast soon!

I highly recommend folks go there and try the Papusas... for $3/each. I had the cheese papusa and it was great. They also have a decent, overpriced, happy hour. $5 for mixed drinks and beers. A little pricey for beers and nonalcoholic drinks. Not sure the bar tender put much alcohol in my margaritas. Sat at the bar so service was good. Recommendation: Go there have some water with your Papusas and get your alcohol elsewhere.
Afterward, we decided to give the desserts a try. I had the bread pudding or tres leches (not sure about the spelling), while she had the flan. Both were tasty, but unfortunately, we discovered that the desserts had recently been frozen; they hadn't fully thawed at the bottom.
The service was excellent—warm and welcoming. I wish I could give it an extra star, but due to the frozen desserts and the oily paella, I couldn’t.
I'm not quite sure what the issue was with this place. I've never been told that I couldn't wait for someone to order before. They insisted that I order immediately without providing any explanation. I asked if the kitchen or the restaurant was closing, but received no response—just a firm push to place my order. As a result, I decided not to stay. I was really disappointed with the way everything unfolded.
The food here is excellent! It’s one of those hidden gems that locals treasure. The cuisine is authentic and full of flavor. I recommend trying the Pupusa combo and the garnacha—both are delicious. However, the Limo Saltado is definitely the standout dish. The service may be a little slow, but the charming ambiance makes up for it in this delightful spot.

A genuine real deal Mexican restaurant. I enjoyed the shrimp quesadillas and my partner had a tamale with chicken and a pork papusa. The service was super friendly. A giant menu with lots of choices.
Very expensive don't ever order a double shot they 26 dollars one drink when everyone else is like 10 . Be aware
