My Partner stopped into Kellys Top Of the Town in Newcastle last night. All she wanted wanted was a Childs sausage meal as due to ill health she cannot only manage small portions. When she ordered it the man behind the counter asked was it for herself, to which she replied yes. He told her he counldnt sell her a childs meal as she was an adult but he could give her the same size portion but would would have to charge her more. He charged her an extra £1,20 for the same meal. Doc or John macs have never had selling a childs portion to an adult. I would not recommend this place to anyone As a local we will not be back in this place.
A proper traditional chippy. The fish and chips are fantastic and very generous portions. We have tried quite a few things on the menu and have never been disappointed. Great food and very nice people. Probably the best fish and chips we have had in a long time. We look forward to going whenever we are in Newcastle.
Thought we would try some fish and chips after climbing. Tried this one as near the bus stop. Staff were unfriendly to say the least and the food was a big disappointment. On reflection should have gone to the one in town which we passed, i think the queue spoke for itself.
Kelly's tip of the city is an absolutely delightful place to eat! It has been a long time since I've had such delicious food at a chip shop in Newcastle. The staff is friendly and the food is fresh and tasty. Highly recommend trying it out!

I can’t think of a better place to go for a meal in Newcastle or for that matter anywhere in Co Down. The staff are friendly and obliging, and you won’t get better portions anywhere. Greatest fish and chips I have ever had

Great see chippy my daughter and liked it some much we went twice in one day lol definitely worth a visit the next time you go to Newcastle.
Ordered a fish and chips and a glass of tap water. Guy tried to charge me £1.60 for the tap water. Needless to say, he lost the order.

Doesn't look much from the outside but the food was great and the staff very friendly. Piping hot tasty and generous portions.
Waited over half an hour for food that tasted like nothing. Cost over £20 for a burger chips and fish really disappointed
