We walked into this restaurant at 12:30pm on a Sunday. There was 2 groups ahead of us a group of 5 and a group of 3. No idea how long they’d been there waiting. We all stood around for a few minutes with no staff in sight. I would say about 5 minutes later someone finally came over and greeted the first group. They asked them to wait a second while they set up the table. A few minutes later they came back and took the group to their seats. And no one came back to greet us or the group ahead of us. I made a reservation for the patio (which they misplaced). They seated us on a makeshift secondary patio with only one working umbrella for 4 tables. When we asked to be moved to the main patio with more umbrellas and less sun, they refused, claiming there were no available tables (even though there were empty ones). They then seated a walk-in elderly couple there without a reservation. We did not see anyone clean the table, so I used a lysol wipe on it and the menu, which turned black. I went to this restaurant with a friend for lunch. It was not very busy, except for a child's birthday party. We started with spinach dip and Pita chips, which was served hot. For our main dishes, we had Fish and chips and chicken thighs with fries. Our server was attentive and friendly, even suggesting a seasoning for my chicken thighs (lemon pepper sriracha lime) which turned out to be a perfect choice. I attempted to reserve a table on the patio but it was full, so I made a reservation for inside seating at 7 pm. When we arrived, we were promptly seated. However, our dining experience was disrupted by a loud group of 9 women across the room who were shouting and laughing. Despite our request to the waitress and manager to ask them to lower their noise level and wear masks due to the risk of spreading the coronavirus, no action was taken. Kelsey's Pickering ....closest to our home, closed down a few years ago replaced by some other chain which I have not visited. We decided to visit Kelsey's Ajax. Since our last visit, the restaurant has re branded, new exterior, new interior decor. I have to say that we did not find the ambiance as intimate and cozy as the pre branded restaurant. The lighting was so bright I actually needed sunglasses, the music was insanely loud that I could not concentrate. 9 10 big screen tv's ....... why?? The entire restaurant is a sports bar now. However, food, service and server were amazing!!
This is our first experience with Kelsey's. Unlike another reviewer, I like a bright restaurant. I want to be able to see my food. I loved the decor. (No...not intimate. I didn't expect intimate from the exterior. Our server was friendly and quick. She made some recommendations and those we went with were spot on. The nachos were a little dry. I with they layered the chips and toppings a little. Otherwise all the cheese goes with the first few nachos and then you are left with just a tray of chips.

Restaurant was recommended by a teammate from men’s hockey team. Great wings, the best I had in a while. Looks like a new restaurant Service was fast.
