7:40 PM Tuesday, 27 February 2024 Kettlemans bagels Trainyards branch. I walked into the bakery with my friend, I was placing an order, I asked for the toppings available, she (a random employee who was just standing there doing nothing) didn’t answer, she didn’t let the employee on cashier duty tell me either, she instead only stood there and stared at me, and when she spoke she was very rude and condescending, I tried to look at the screen to see the toppings and she wouldn’t let me, she yelled at me for trying to see the toppings on the screen. I was talking to him (the cashier) in English and she was on the side talking in Hindi thinking I wouldn’t understand her I ended up not ordering...
This is my First negative review, probably because I’ve heard good things about the Kettleman’s bagel. I was at the Train Yards location at 4am after I finished my night shift. I said: let’s get a breakfast sandwich for my son who is an early riser.. It took 15 min to get a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and not because everything is freshly cooked. Just because the 2 people making it are not too interested Meantime I had the opportunity to watch 2 employees working hard to make bagels for a big chain grocery store like farmboy. i really like the food here. i had a chocolate bagel, an oven roasted chicken sandwich on a garlic bagel with some sweet mustard. excellent. pastries are nice too. i appreciate that they are open 24/7 and available on delivery apps. amazing bagel shop. anyone visiting Ottawa should try this bagel shop. anyone living in Ottawa should get bagels here regularly. i know i plan on it. I can’t imagine how much money they’re saving by only giving me half a pickle. For $18 sandwich combo you would think they would be able to give me one full pickle also, I specifically asked for pumpernickel but was given a sesame.
