Nice business, beautifully presented, GREAT ice cream. All your young people working there are great nice. However, Lexi must pay attention to the customers who are right in front of their waiting to help instead of going to their employee who actually tries to do their job. On the late Saturday afternoon, my husband and I had to get their attention and ask to be waited while they were standing right over the counter of her, then after she finally got my cone, she immediately passed to ring it, completely ignore my husband until he said something. Maybe it was just a bad day, and we got the brunch at the end, but she wasn't friendly. Ice was still fabulous.
So I know yelp review aren't supposed to be value based but my point is this. My family and I were enjoying a Christmas experience in Old St. Charles last week. It was cold and we all wanted a nice cup of hot chocolate. For the 4 of us, i spent just shy of 30 bucks and all we got was a large batch of warm chocolate out of an igloo cooler. It didn't taste any different than a Swiss mix. It isn't as much the money but for that kind of money, I'd have expected gourmet service and a great tasting HOT chocolate. I see no reason to go back.
The 40-minute drive was absolutely worth it! We came here to celebrate my daughter's 12th birthday. I called ahead and spoke with the owner, who was incredibly kind and had balloons ready for us when we arrived. My daughter loved her ice treat, and the owner even added a few extras because he wanted to make sure we had a great experience. Thank you so much for making her day truly special!
I had a delightful experience in the charming seating area, savoring a scoop of lemon sorbet on a warm day—it was exactly what I needed! The prices are a bit on the higher side, typical for a tourist destination like Old St. Charles. The staff was exceptionally friendly and even helped me choose the perfect piece of turtle fudge to take home!
I bought the caramel corn, chocolate covered pretzel and pecan brittle: the caramel corn was the worst corn I’ve ever had. I can’t even describe the flavor, but it was inedible. The pecan brittle was okay. Definitely not worth the 20 dollars I spent on everything.
love kilwins. they have the best ice. better than baskin robin’s dairy queen and mcdonald together. they have the best tasting in the world. I recommend getting a drink from here.
Absolutely amazing place! As soon as you walk in it smells so delicious! The ice cream is fantastic as well as the waffle cones. I go there every time I'm in town!
