My family and I had a wonderful experience at Knoop. I had some relatives visiting from East Lansing, and I wanted to find a warm and inviting place for us to sit and chat. Fortunately, a friend recommended this restaurant, so I made a reservation on the same day. We enjoyed some drinks, and I really wish we had tried the food—definitely something we'll look forward to next time! Overall, we had a fantastic experience; the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was just right—not too loud and not too crowded, which made it even more enjoyable.
The drinks were fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was delightful. However, the choice of furniture could use some improvement. The small tables in a community dining setting are not ideal, and the seating options are quite impractical. The padded seats were positioned too low, making them 12 inches below the table, while the chairs were too high, sitting 4 inches above the table. This made for an uncomfortable dining experience.
We had reservations and had even gotten a confirmation text but the restaurant was closed because of the storm. I was the one to call to double check. No one from the restaurant called to inform me that they were closed. There were several other restaurants downtown that were open. It would have been nice if someone had called. Poor customer service.

Service was good but the food was underwhelming. Proteins delivered at incorrect temperatures. Salads were fine but nothing special. Garlic knots were clearly Sysco and not homemade. Great promise but completely underwhelming delivery. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: $30–50
We made dinner reservations for six, but were seated at a very small table directly beneath a television. The table was even smaller than most coffee tables.
there are very limited foods, the drinks are overpriced, and many menu items were not available. the ambiente is beautiful, but the noise level is very loud.
The staff (bartenders) could not have been nicer . We sat in a great room with a lovely view.
