My husband and I have been customers of the Kohi-noor for many years now. Every dish is prepared fresh using the best quality ingredients and there is variations in taste from week to week. That said, having tried other local Indian takeaways, nothing is comparable with the Kohinoor, I read reviews of other places and made my decisions to try them based on these reviews, I genuinely don’t get what other people’s idea of a good curry is, judging by our experience. The 2 we tried were awful. We were down south on holiday and tried an Indian curry down there, all I can say is the Kohi noor has spoiled us as nowhere comes even remotely close to being as good!! The curry we had on holiday was ok...
We have been regularly ordering a set meal with two curries, poppadoms, pakora, rice, and naan at a very reasonable price for the past three years and have never been disappointed. We work in Edinburgh and live in the Scottish Borders, but this restaurant is always our top choice. As lovers of Indian cuisine, we have tried many restaurants and takeaways across Scotland, Southeast Asia, and beyond, but this one remains our favorite. The food is consistently delicious and authentic, ranging from a mild and creamy korma to a spicy madras. If this restaurant was closer to our home, we would be enjoying it every week!
The last time I posted a review was 5 years ago and I feel that everything just gets better as time goes on. Run by a lovely couple, this is an excellent service, with fresh, always-tasty food that never varies in quality. Ignore the few negative reviews-smacks clearly of disgruntled and unsuccessful competitors. This business is a great asset to Musselburgh as their hundreds of regular, loyal customers prove on a daily basis. Hope it is open tonight!
Just arrived in Musselburgh and all were looking forward to a good Indian takeaway on our first night. A safe bet we thought how wrong we were. Despite ordering very different meals, they were barely distinguishable from one meal to the next. Gloop like consistency and barely recognisable mains and sides. Avoid at all costs. We waited for 2 hours and 25 minutes, even though the app guaranteed a maximum wait time of one hour. After the initial wait time was up, we called the restaurant and were given misleading information about the delivery time, forcing us to wait an additional hour and twenty minutes. If you're hungry, I would not recommend eating here.
This takeout establishment requires you to call ahead with your order or be prepared to wait around twenty minutes for it, as everything is freshly cooked to perfection. I have recommended this place to many of my friends and they all agree that the quality and flavors are unmatched. It is the best Indian takeout in Musselburgh.
For agesI was ordering Chicken Madras,kohl-Noor Chef Khan recommended I tried the Chicken South Indian Chilli Garlic I've never looked back always curbs that curry pang Garlic Nans the size of Snow shoes..! Oh try the homemade minced samosas
