I had a conversation with someone who might be the owner, and they've been at this location for over 20 years. I decided to try some regular chips, extra spicy ones, and a large container of 'spicy' BBQ chips (which were actually low to medium in spice, to be honest). The large container cost $32, and I was too surprised or embarrassed to return it, so I went ahead and bought it. My guests and I all agreed that those were the best chips we've ever had, and the container does a great job of keeping them intact.
We saw the sign for chips and stopped by. We found parking across the street but crossing the road is a bit risky. I really like the original chips. They are kettle style made from Idaho potatoes. Crunchy and thick and salty. I also got the furikake chips and the Li Hing Mui (salted dried plums) which I've been eating since I was a child. The muis were not as salty or as dried as I'm use to. And I love them much more for it. So delicious! What a culinary joy. Thank you Kona Chips!
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The potato chips are perfectly crispy and completely grease-free, but our absolute favorite were the furikake shrimp chips. They also have a variety of other snacks and local products available, including dried li hing mui, hot sauces, and spice rubs. The family that runs the restaurant is extremely friendly, and they even offer online shipping for those who prefer that option.
Having just returned from Oahu, I have to say that the chips at this restaurant are simply amazing, much like the staff. We were greeted with warm hospitality, and they even offered to ship our purchases for a reasonable fee. Just two days later, we received a large box of our souvenirs, which we enjoyed that evening. If I could rate them, I would definitely give them 10 stars!

These are the best chips I've ever had! To put it in perspective, we finished the entire bag just two miles from the restaurant. The crunch is unmatched—absolutely the best. It's totally worth spending a bit extra for these amazing locally made chips!
These were the best chips we've ever tasted! They were truly fantastic. We purchased four bags for $24, so we don't understand the complaints about them being pricey. Give them a try and enjoy them as much as we did!
This restaurant is an excellent choice to visit. They offer a diverse menu with a variety of dishes beyond just chips. Be sure to sample the fried garlic!
