After the tour of the salt mines and riding the funicular and checking out the shops and pictures of the lake, we had built an appetite. We found this restaurant at the end of the area of shops and decided to try it. There is... a large banquet hall in the main part of the building, but there is a small side door that goes directly into the restaurant. There are not many tables, but they could find us a place. My husband ordered a beer that was good and cold. He had schnitzel, that was the special of the day, so he also got soup and a small dessert with his meal, and I had escalated turkey with ham and cheese inside, baked and deep roasted with French pommes and a really beautiful salad. The place is quite well located but that is the only positive thing about it. The food is a big disappointment. We ordered the daily menu hoping it will je fresh and quickly delivered. Couldn't be further from the truth. They're pumpkin cream soup had...more water then the apple juice with gas. The main dish which was supposed to be grilled meat with vegetables was a huge plate of fries with a peace of plane fried sausage and a dry peace of pork. Very disappointing, tasted really bad. The salad was 2 leaves of green salad with a very watered-down dressing. The staff was quite rude and complained about the tip, apparently was not enough! Not that they even deserved any. Avoid avoid avoid. Food was barely edible. Each meal was brought to the table separately with 5 to 10 mins between them. The staff were ignorant and rude. Tried one mouthful of food and realised it wasn't cooked. They refused to take this one dish...off the bill. If I spoke the language and knew my rights I wouldn't have paid for anything. Basically disgusting. I wouldn't eat in this place again if my life depended upon it. I hope the place goes under as the current owners and staff have no idea how to look after customers. Als wir ankamen, waren kaum Gäste da, aber keine Tische waren sauber und wir mussten warten. Erst als wir bestellten, teilte uns die Kellnerin mit, dass viele Mahlzeiten aufgebraucht seien und wir Zeit verlieren müssten, um andere Mahlzeiten zu finden. Das Essen selbst war nicht das, was man von einem Restaurant erwarten würde: Der Fisch war trocken, das Gemüse kam aus einer Tiefkühlpackung und wir bekamen Pommes statt Kartoffeln. Das einzig gut schmeckende Gericht war das Cordon Bleu. Ich würde empfehlen, in ein anderes Restaurant zu gehen.

Die Kellnerin war gleich zu Beginn sehr unhöflich und schüttelte den Kopf. Wir warteten eine Stunde auf das Essen und bekamen schließlich zwei von vier Mahlzeiten ohne Besteck und bekamen dann nicht die richtige Pizzasorte. Danach sahen wir, wie die Kellnerin einige Gäste anschrie, weil sie die Rechnung teilen wollten. Das Essen war nicht schlecht, aber schlicht. Das einzig Positive war eine sehr nette junge Kellnerin, die versuchte, alles zu lösen, was der andere falsch gemacht oder vergessen hatte.
We arrived and there were barely any guests, but no tables were clean and we had to wait. Only when we ordered, the waitress told us that they were out of many meals and we had to lose time to find different meals. The food itself was not what you'd expect from a restaurant: The fish was dry, the vegetables came from a frozen pack and we got fries instead of potatoes. The only good tasting dish was the cordon bleu. I'd recommend going to a different restaurant.
The waitress was very rude right at the start, shaking her head at us. We waited for an hour for the meal, and finally got two meals out of four, without cutlery and then didn't get the right sort of pizza. After that we witnessed the waitress screaming at some guests, because they wanted to split the bill. The food was not bad, but plain. The only positive was a very nice young waitress, trying to solve everything the other one got wrong or forgot.
It was in Hallstat today. Unfortunately it was an evil and rainy day and was looking for a hot meal. When we came to the restaurant, the waiter was very rude with us. I'd think because the business is on a tourist business... the waiting staff would be warm, friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent, but the waiting staff needs adjustment.

Foods are not that good. The waiter and waitress are damn rude and yelling at us all the time. For me, I won't come near this restaurant once again.
