KUMI KO was truly outstanding—definitely one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever visited! I've had plenty of great sushi, but this place stands out. The owners are very friendly, and the customer service is exceptional. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and everything was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully presented. You can really see their passion for what they do. While the venue isn't huge and might not be in the best location, once you try it, you'll definitely want to return. I can't wait to go back soon and take some pictures. KUMI KO gets a perfect 10 out of 10 from me!
I stumbled upon this gem thanks to Eater LA—there's sushi in Compton! Tucked away like a charming house atop a hill, this Japanese restaurant boasts an excellent selection of sushi, bowls, ramen, and even Japanese beverages. The decor is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly. It's definitely become one of my favorites!
My experience at Kumi Ko was outstanding! I came in with one goal: to enjoy some soup, and it did not disappoint. Absolutely delicious—flavorful and made with genuine care. Truly a hidden gem in the city. Big shoutout to Chef Bruce Lee for preparing such an amazing dish. Much gratitude and blessings to you!
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! We've been coming here since they opened a few years ago, and we plan to keep coming back. Even during the pandemic, their quality has consistently been five stars. The owners are really kind and have a great affection for our kids as well.

This restaurant has a beautiful and elegantly decorated atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious, and the customer service is a standout feature. While it may be a bit on the pricey side, it was definitely worth it. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5 out of 5.
Can I just say how much I love this place !!! It’s so beautiful inside the decor is amazing . Let me not even start with the food because I will never stop bragging lol I come here with my partner for date night and it’s always so relaxing don’t ever leave guys !!
Kumi Ko offers an intriguing contrast. Inside, you’ll find an excellent sushi restaurant with a carefully crafted menu, but when you look outside, Long Beach Blvd.—a well-known spot for ladies of the night—creates an unexpected backdrop.

KUMI KO is a true gem in Compton. My fiancé knew about this place before I did, but now I highly recommend KUMI KO to everyone, especially my fellow Compton locals.
