On a weekday we arrived at the location and it way past lunch time. To our surprise we noticed a lineup with a few people. It was cold that day and luckily we were dressed properly and were seated in about 40 minutes. We assumed there was just one type of gravy and it was vegan friendly. In our rush to order and eat we failed to ask if the normal gravy was vegan friendly as well or not. Ordered a Vegan La Rachel very good fries and lot of fries for the size. Nicely topped with green peppers, onions mushrooms and vegan cheeze shreds. The gravy was disappointing. Perhaps because it was gluten free. Not the zing, and lower seasoned and flavour. Did the obligatory tourist thing of 'let 's go get poutine ' in Canada, thankfully my friend of a friend knew of this spot as it did vegan poutine and recommended it (alongside the La Bonheur). Sat down, got ourselves a pint of LTM hoppy ale and chilled out. Ordered the regular La Bonheur after being told grande is a pretty hefty portion and not feeling too much up to the challenge. Food came and was a big portion for a regular! The gravy and vegan cheese curds were nice, all the different toppings like the pepper and vegan sausage were delicious, also the gravy!
I didn't know Poutine, Canadians recommended me to try Poutine, that's how I found this restaurant. When we arrived the queue was long but we were lucky and got a table within 10 minutes. The restaurant was full, it was very loud but it was worth it. The poutine was very good. I ordered the regular portion which was quite a large portion. When I saw how big the larger one was, I was glad I ordered the regular one. The service was quick and very friendly.
As a huge poutine fan, I can affirm that the vegan poutine here is very yummy! There are many toppings available, including vegan sausage. Would be nice if they eventually switched to vegan cheese curds though. Updated from previous review on 2023-09-23

Quite a few vegan options. I had L'Ovni and it was really nice, felt very north American. However there's no symbol differentiating vegan from vegetarian dishes so I did have to ask. Updated from previous review on 2024-09-12
Food was really good and there's plenty of vegetarian options that can all be modified to have vegan cheese and sauce. Some of the signposting isn't so good but the food and service make up for that
We went here with Omni parents as a bit of a tourist thing to do in Montreal. The vegan Poutine was really good, not the best I've ever had but still good. We added fried onions to ours.
The venue was very busy but moved along quickly. We were in a line outside that wrapped around the building. The vegan poutine was delicious and in heaping amounts .

Am so happy there are vegan options now at La Banquise. I had La Bonheur with plant-based sausage, cheeze, onions, green peppers. Yummy yummy yummy!
I loved their vegan poutine. I tried both vegan options and I liked the classic vegan poutine better. My expectations were met and some more.
