While staying at this hotel for a total of five nights, we enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet with its array of cold cuts, local cheeses, croissants and other breads, fresh fruit, yogurt, and really good coffee. Scrambled eggs were available, and there was also a device in which one could boil eggs to one 's liking. While the breakfast was exactly the same every morning (except once when they had run out of eggs), it made a pleasant and satisfying start to the day. One evening we had dinner, which, unfortunately, was a quite different experience. While the service was good, the food was not. Déjeuner à proximité de la gare de Nantes peut paraître difficile en période estivale compte tenu du nombre important de voyageurs en transit. La brasserie de l'hôtel mercure offre une pause de qualité dans un cadre design et chaleureux avec une restauration goûteuse autour d'une formule du midi abordable. Une formule buffet d'entrées copieuses et variées pour ceux qui aiment.
We arrive late to the hotel didn't get into the restaurant till 30mins before closing. We were shown to a table by Guilem and he was very polite helpful throughout with our mix of English French !! The monkfish black risotto is very nice the classic club sandwich packed with filling!! We would eat here again whether staying in hotel or not.
The server was on his own and stressed. Mist if the items on the menu were not available. I took the lamb which was tender but dry with a very sour cream and undercooked inedible potatoes they tasted like they were off. Not at all enjoyable. Never again!
