We came here on the recommendation of my friend and really had a great time here. From what we gathered, the wine bar seems like a neighborhood joint where a lot of regulars come by and drink some wine, eat some charcuterie and chat the evening away. There were also a bunch of folks who come in and asked JJ for wine suggestions and he will happily find something for you. The wines all seemed to be from smaller producers and not overly expensive. Bar is teeny weeny with maybe 6 or so seats but we didn't have a problem finding a spot. We came on a weekday right before a dinner reservation in the same area. We did a tasting of the different glasses but really loved the tasting of the week - win...
I tried it once and returned there because not too far from home and wanted to see if it was due to a complicated 1 day - not the 2 waiters or proprio push you to wines whose bottle is already open, not too nice when you are in a wine bar! To stay at the bar you have to take a plate, you can understand but by taking a 2nd glasses, they took the plate while there was some cheese - not cool! The worst is the attitude of the 2 servers / proprio behind the difficult bar to interpellate them while it is small and they are at the limit of the unpleasant and not smiling - we felt to be bothering them while we are customers. i
come by chance, I was very pleasantly surprised by the selection of wines and the beautiful definalment, we decided to drink a bottle on the spot, wisely chosen by the caviste, (very pro) all accompanied by good cutters from Corsica and Basque country, the top..To do or to redo!
this little street beacon holds in his haunt of real little wonders. go to the counter and find your wine that you will have tasted before. ask him what he has fresh because all wines are not available for tasting. the place is not very big but enough to have a nice atmosphere some nights, I love the selection of the fairly heteroclite wines and the advice of the caviste. You can eat on the spot, people make room for you if you need and you can easily sympathize with the counter.
