The location is just fine mins drive out of Dole but not walking distance. The restaurant is beautifully set up with a stylish front of house service. Very welcoming and yet still very sophisticated. The staff are simply wonderful. They made so much effort to explain the menu and the dishes to me in English (as my French wasn't good enough to decipher the menu , which is beautifully complex. The wine choice was very good and affordable. The Chef came out to speak to all his guests and make sure everyone were enjoying their evening. Was in Paris wanted a break and went to Dole near Dijon )and found myself eating in La Chaumiere good food , perfect friendly service and sommelier recommended the Trousseau Clairet , enjoyed the pairing it’s only an hour and fifty minutes ride in TGV to Dole if you need a break from the work or from the high stress city take a break in Dole and dine in La Chaumiere even a simple Bitro menu is awesome ,they even have rooms and stayed to enjoy another meal worth the money and time too

Great staff, and very knowledgable sommelier- do seek his advice on the local wines of Jura, of which there is a fantastic collection. Charming Hotel too which i recommend fully.lovely swimming pool for summer, lovely interior with fire for winter.
