La Chaumiere Montignac

We have been to this restaurant many times in the past 4 years and have never been disappointed. The hearty food is reminiscent of the mountains with the platters of varied sausages, potatoes and cheese. The potatoes baked in a casserole are the best ever! There are many choices of fondue or remind me of fondue or raclette. You cannot go wrong with anything that you order. The meal includes a sparkling fresh green salad and the prices are very reasonable. It is open on Sunday evenings, one of the very few to be open in the town of Montignac on that night.

We have booked at 9 pm, but the table was already occupied and the owner was pushing us back. It was not a misunderstending but really an overbooking. The explanation was absolutely an excuse joking on the time (at the telephone was crystall clear it was at 9pm). It is not professional for a restaurant to act like this and it is more serious to talk looking to the eyes and say “sorry I have made a mistake”

It was one of the very few restaurant open on Monday. We were not disappointed. It has a special atmosphere, the food I really nice and the owner is very friendly and knows how to take care. It's been a very nice evening. I highly recommend it!

We love the opportunity of having raclette and the atmosphere in this place is lovely. Can’t fault the service and the food is very hearty. We always make a couple of visits when we are in Montignac Simon

Wonderful, authentic cooking in a cosy, Montgnac setting. The food is hearty and plentiful. Service is cheerful and friendly.
