We stumbled upon this place due to the volume of reviews compared to others in the area but the alarming thing was seeing a number of bad yelp reviews, stating their food isn't good and all were delivery related. I crossed my fingers and took a chance to eat here and thankfully didn't experience anything that went bad. we had a pernil rice platter with plantains. On the day of the event, the delivery was prompt, and I was provided with everything necessary, including utensils, plates, and napkins. The food itself was outstanding, and everyone was very pleased. The Cuban sandwiches were a highlight—stuffed with generous portions of flavorful meat and served on fresh, crispy bread. The empanadas were enormous and filled to the brim with delicious meat. I also ordered a tray of maduros and chickpea salad, both of which were fantastic. This is our favorite restaurant in New Jersey since we moved here three years ago. The food is incredibly delicious—especially the bark stew with rice and plantains—which perfectly reminds us of the amazing meals we enjoyed while living in South America. We particularly love dining on the patio when the weather is nice. The service is great, and the staff always makes us feel at home. We bring all our friends here when they visit, and we've even had friends come specifically for a week just to enjoy La Cocina again. We absolutely love this place!
I drive quite a bit to come here, honestly—I visit every two weeks. The food is consistently good. I will say that the staff could be more attentive, but the line moves quickly, and even if you have to wait, it’s always worth it. Whenever I'm at Manny's, I feel like I've hit the jackpot! I often get so caught up in my meal that I forget to take photos, so I need to upload more as time goes on, but for now, enjoy what I've got!
Ate here today for the first time 8/2/2022. This place did not disappoint! As soon as I walked in and saw the food.....I was in heaven! As soon as I got home and put a fork full in my mouth, I knew this was going to be my spot! Getting good latin cuisine , like soul food is a hit or miss. This place definitely hit! I ordered a fantastic Cuban sandwich for lunch, and I have to say it was loaded with deliciousness—tender pork, zesty mustard, excellent pickles, and the garlic really took it to another level.
