I visited La Cocotte with a large group of work colleagues but was impressed with the way they handled the torrent of orders, both at the bar and from the kitchen. We virtually took over the restaurant that night but service was good and the food excellent a choice of aromatic fish or beef stew, both of which were superb. It is especially worthy of mention that one of our guests needed a gluten free and lactose free meal and La Cocotte reacted to this without warning, on the night they are to be commended. I would undoubtedly recommend and return.
We came across this restaurant by a complete co-incidence during our walk. We went in for the lunch menu which we were told had been sold out. Not surprising considering it was about 13:30. We then went for the mussels from Saint Michele. They were good, small but very tasty. The soup they were cooked in was so delicious that I almost finished eating this as well! Oh, and the courtyard is pleasant on a warm day.
Very good restaurant, the welcome is warm and the traditional Alsatian dishes are very good and in good quantity. I recommend to everyone who wants to eat good food.
