We arrived hungry and thirsty after 4 hours drive. We didn't have a reservation but then again Usually travelers don't book a bar in advance. When we arrived the first answer was negative. We tried to sit outside next to other tables and they...More and we suggested ordering at least a couple of beers and a tapa in the bar and NO without hesitation was her reply. unfortunately no place for foreigners. Thumbs up La Cortina can't understand why people with such bad vibes have bars or restaurants.
We were 4 motorcyclists and wanted to find somewhere just outside Panes for a rest stop. This restaurant is just outside Panes over the bridge and you can park outside. The menu is extensive with fresh line caught fish available when they've been fortunate and...caught their own fish. Top Tip: the location map shows Bar La Cortina up the hill in amongst some houses. It is literally inline with the blue bridge and 20m from the main road. You know your there because of the Cider barrels outside.

Stopped for lunch on a bike tour of Picos and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and service in la Cortina. The grilled mushrooms, tomato salad and asparagus were all fantastic. Great service too
Here on the way to the ferry in Santander. Delicious oyster mushrooms to start large portions. Liver onions with chips was delicious. Roast ham with chips delicious again. Enjoy your meal. €23 bargain.
