We took another trip down to this charming village this year . We ate inside as a bit cold for the terrace. It gets hot sun later in season! Four of us on this trip. We had superb entrecote steaks, scallops and Gambas. Gerrard the...owner chose the wine..he is quite an expert on local wines so we always leave it to him. It was a quiet day, before the season gets really under way. Service was charming and food lovely. This is great spot for a lunch on a bad day. Take the trip down to the original village of the valley. The bus is free and takes only 15 minutes. Expect to pay about 40 or 50 euros per head for a nice relaxed lunch with a bottle of local wine. Husband and I went at the end of the summer season. On arrival things looked uninviting as we looked into the bar a basic local French bar in a small village. We were then taken through to a charming restaurant where we were the...only diners. The service was absolutely charming and informative and we were allowed to battle on in our mediocre French despite the fact that maitre d' spoke excellent English. Thank you for that as it is nice to try! Food was seasonal and absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked. Have heard it is a good place for lunch for skiers in the winter season. Our summer evening there was a delight.
We spent a very nice evening, very attentive host, possibility of having a raclette or a fondue with ceps or bits for one person. For dessert, fruit gratin is mandatory. We spent a very enjoyable evening. The host made us feel at ease. We had individual portions for those who chose the raclette or the delicious (and copious) mushroom fondue. The Chateaubriand with hot foie gras was delicious as were the scallops. A very wide selection of good wines to choose from. We contented ourselves with the Champagne cocktail.

Anyway we had home made terrine as starters..superb..a lovely bottle of St Julian an then the main course which varied from Gambas to steaks..all super.. A beautiful interior setting so perfect for a special dinner occasion. Easy to get to from meribel on the free bus service.

A stop of on the way to the French Alps. Very comfortable and agreeable stay. The hosts are super friendly and the breakfast is all homemade or local produce. We would not hesitate to stay again. 3.5 hours from Calais and 5.5 to Méribel. Ideal. Also great local restaurants that they can advise upon if not eating in. Do go and stay, it’s lovely.
I come to dinner here at least once in every stay and the restaurant never disappointed, The menu is excellent as the selection of wines and of course Korteous service. Thanks to the hotel team for storing our bags on the day of departure, although... we don't stay there!
